The Greyhound Gathering in Kanab is a favorite! We don’t own a Greyhound but love to mingle with these mellow dogs and their wonderful owners. Many of the dogs are rescued from the racing circuit and are affectionately called “The 60 mile per hour couch potatoes”. Yes, these dogs are fast! But they really prefer to lounge on the sofa. This year’s gathering is called Sighthound Shivoo.

A 3-day celebration and FUNdraising event for and about greyhounds.

Lovers of greyhounds, Owners of greyhounds and just anybody interested in watching some fun events. Events like:
-Blur of Fur (humans race dogs for fun. Dogs are clocked by Kanab City
police’s radar gun. Lot’s of silly awards)
-Costume Parade

WANT TO KNOW MORE: Greyhound Gang, is a 501 c3 organization since 1995. Their initial mission was front line rescue work – rescuing, rehabilitating and finding homes for greyhounds no longer wanted by their breeders.
They have transitioned more to a fundraising and educational organization. Their main assistance is now the creation and sustaining of “Almost Home for Hounds” since 2004.
